My children’s writing success stories . . .
So, far I’ve written two middle grade novels–SHRINK and SHORT.
My third, middle grade novel, CAST OFF, is “finished,” and undergoing extensive renovations.
I’ve made anguishing attempts at several picture books that I’m willing to let others see. (We won’t mention “the others.” Yeesh.)
And I’m excited about two non-fiction book proposals–one about an astrocat. (Yes, that’s a thing. The other book proposal is about vomit, which unfortunately,, is a thing too!
In 2012, I had a picture book manuscript place in the top 5 of the National Children’s Book of the Year contest sponsored by the National Association of Elementary School Principals. It was an honor to place so well among 750 entries.

I’ve sold fiction and non-fiction articles to children’s magazines, including Highlights for Children, Ladybug, Nature Friend, Primary Treasure and Girls’ Life. One of my stories–“Roxanna Banana”–about a Burmese python, was published in a primer for children in Vietnam, Guam and Indonesia.
